The 3 Greatest Evolutions of the Apple

The Apple has been a part of mankind's history.  It has evolved as an icon of man's struggles and victory though centuries.

Adam and Eve’s Apple

Adam and Eve picking the forbidden apple

In the book of Genesis of the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, Adam and Eve lived in paradise, known as Eden.  God forbade them to eat the fruit of wisdom, universally pictured in literature as apple.  The snake tempted Eve to eat the apple. Eve gave in to the temptation and through her coaxing, Adam also ate the apple.  After eating the apple, the couple suddenly knew that they were naked.  God was so furious at them that He sent them out of Eden.  At this point, the struggles of Adam and Eve as the first parents of the humankind began.

Sir Isaac Newton’s Apple

Legend has it that Isaac Newton formulated gravitational theory in the middle of the 1600s,  after watching an apple fall and asking why the apple fell straight down, rather than sideways or even upward.

Newton proved that the force that makes the apple fall and that holds us on the ground is the same as the force that keeps the moon and planets in their orbits.  Hence, originating the Universal Law of Gravitation.

Steve Jobs’ Apple

Although Apple Computers was co-founded by Steve Jobs with his two friends, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, on April 1, 1976, Jobs is considered as the visionary of the hugely successful Apple Inc.

Jobs innovated the personal computers. When he introduced the Macintosh in January 1984, there was pandemonium. The Macintosh was the first affordable computer to offer a graphical user interface, replacing fusty text-based operating systems with an intuitive layout of folders and icons.  Steve Jobs later created the iPod,iPad and the iPhone, bringing amazing innovations to communication and entertainment which made people’s lives immeasurably better.  Brilliant is an understatement to describe his creative genius.

Steve Jobs, 1955-2011
Steve Jobs died on Wednesday night, October 5, 2011, due to a rare form of pancreatic cancer.  Jobs had this to say, “being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me.  Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful…that’s what matters to me.”

Steve Jobs had many gifts and he used these to touch the lives of many people.

In recent history, Steve Jobs' evolution of the Apple has the greatest impact.  His death has shaken not only Apple Inc., but the world, to the core.
